Anastasius I, 491-518. Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.47 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, circa 492-507. D N ANASTASIVS P P AVG Pearl-diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Anastasius I facing slightly to right, holding spear in his right hand and with a shield decorated with horseman attacking a fallen foe over his left shoulder. Rev. VICTORIA AVGGG A / CONOB Victory standing front, head to left, holding long voided cross in her right hand; in field to right, star. DOC 3a. MIB 4a. SB 3. Minor flan fault on the obverse and with light deposits on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
